If you’re new to tithing, the best place to start is with consistency. Resist the urge to give on impulse; instead, commit to giving a particular number a month demonstrating to God and yourself that the tithe is a priority. Then, consider increasing your tithe by one percent of your income a year. Although the Old Testament talks about a ten percent tithe, the example of tithing set forth in the New Testament is one of sacrificial giving (Acts 2:44-45). Tithing is the only place where we are encouraged to test God in his faithfulness to provide for us (Malachi 3:10). Consider testing God with your obedient tithe to see the outpouring of his blessings in your life!
