Friday | Week 6

Confidence

A feeling or consciousness of one’s powers or of reliance on one’s circumstances.
Faith or belief that one will act in a right, proper, or effective way.

There are so many character traits we can learn and apply from the life of Jesus. This week’s reading highlighted Jesus’ ability to be confident in the mist of adversity. As you review ways Jesus exuded confidence, think about the same power that lives inside of you.

How did Jesus show confidence?

He had confidence he was the son of God. Jesus understood the power that he possessed. He was not easily influenced by others, especially individuals that did not embrace his message. (John 7:1-5)

He had faith in God’s “timing”. (John 7:6-14)

He had confidence his abilities were gifts from God. (John 7:15-18)

He faithfully and boldly proclaimed he is a person of “truth”. (John 7:18-24)

He believed in heavenly provisions of protection. (John 7:25-30)

His confidence and focus on God’s assignment allowed him to overlook what others thought or said about him. (John 7:31-33)

He had faith his path was ordained by God. (John 7:34-36)

His gift was sufficient for everyone. You will never thirst again. (John 7:37-39)

He knew where he started did not disqualify God’s plan. (John 7:40-44)

His light has changing capabilities. (John 7:45-52)

I would like to challenge you to Be Confident!

Remember YOU were born with a purpose and destiny (Ephesians 2:10). There is a time and season for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). God formed and equipped you (Romans 11:29). Be a person of moral character (Proverbs 11:5-15). God has charged his angels to protect you (Psalm 91:11-12). You ARE called (Jeremiah 29:11). Have faith in the path that’s designed for you (Proverbs 3:5-6). Your gift will provide what the world needs (Proverbs 18:16).

Don’t lose sight, God knows where you came from (Jeremiah 1:5)

And don’t forget it’s the Holy Spirit within you that inspires transformation.

So be CONFIDENT!
