The Lord's Prayer
House of Prayer • Week 2
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them one thing; how to pray. Jesus taught them what we call The Lord's Prayer. It is not only a pattern for prayer, but also a pathway for life. Garth Bolinder, Evangelical Covenant Church Mid-South Superintendent, join us to share a word about and a challenge on the Lord's Prayer.

Luke 11:1-4 NLT
Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: "Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each day the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation.”
Matthew 6:9-13 NLT
Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
The Lord's Prayer is a pattern for prayer and a pathway for life.

God is worthy to be praised
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
