When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. – Genesis 3:6-8

When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. – John 8:44b

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. – Romans 8:1

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9a

“Grace is love that seeks you out when you have nothing to give in return. Grace is love coming at you that has nothing to do with you. Grace is being loved when you are unlovable… Grace has everything to do with the lover, not the beloved. It reflects a decision on the part of the giver, the one who loves, in relation to the receiver, the one who is loved, that negates any qualifications the receiver may personally hold. Grace is the most dangerous, expectation-wrecking, smile-creating, counterintuitive reality there is. Grace is one-way love.” - Paul Zahl

So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we’ve left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn’t you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land! – Romans 6:1-3 (MSG)
