1. How can we really trust what the Bible says?
Psalm 1:1-2 NIV
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
Reading the Bible because it says so only works if we already believe it has authority.
2. Are the modern or contemporary translations trustworthy?
The Old Testament was written primarily in Hebrew
The New Testament was written in Greek
3. Do we read all scripture the same way?
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Scripture is either descriptive or prescriptive.
