At Redeemer, our approach to Small Group Ministry is designed to be flexible, organic, and empowering. We believe life transformation happens best in authentic relationships, and small groups provide an ideal environment for spiritual growth, mutual encouragement, and shared mission. Rather than centrally assigning people to groups, we encourage individuals to take initiative. Whether that means starting a group, gathering a few friends to explore Scripture together, or finding ways to serve side-by-side with others. This self-organizing model allows groups to form around shared interests, seasons of life, and rhythms that make sense for those involved.
We also recognize that not everyone is ready to lead, and that’s okay. There are multiple ways to connect at Redeemer through Adult Sunday School, Men’s and Women’s Bible studies, and various service opportunities. For those who feel drawn to start or lead a group, we offer leadership support, training, and access to excellent resources like RightNow Media. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to step into community, and we’re here to help every step of the way. Whether you’re looking to grow in your faith, build meaningful friendships, or take your next step in leadership, Small Groups at Redeemer are a great place to begin.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How would you describe the Small Group Ministry at Redeemer?
Redeemer is a church with Small Groups but not of Small Groups. What that means is that we provide resources for self-organizing groups but we do not specifically place people into groups.
So if Redeemer does not place people into groups, how do I get in a group?
The easiest way to get in a group is to lead one. Pretty much anyone can start a group. Some folks find it easier to start a group if they can find some co-leaders or co-facilitators.
I don't want to lead a Small Group, but I'd like to get connected. What are my best options?
The best options are to get plugged into an Adult Sunday School class or to attend one of our Men's Bible Studies or Women's Bible Studies. Another way to find community is to serve with others.
I'd like to lead a group but I'd need some help. Does Redeemer provide Small Group leadership training?
Of course! Just reach out to our Pastor of Spiritual Formation, Garland Tackett, and he can provide the next steps.
Does Redeemer provide any resources for Small Groups?
Redeemer maintains a subscription to RightNow Media. If you're not familiar with RightNow, click on this link to create an account. RightNow Media provides hundreds of courses taught by world-leading teachers. And it is all free!
Does Redeemer provide childcare for Small Groups?
We sure do. On the second and fourth Sunday of each month, Redeemer provides childcare from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. But you have to register! Use this link to register or contact Missie Chapman if you have questions.
Where is the best place to meet?
We would always recommend meeting in homes. For some groups, they meet at the church. Please contact the office at hello@redeemertulsa.org to find available space for the dates and times you would like to meet.
