What to Fear
Let’s Be Honest • Week 3
Fear can come upon us in many circumstances, and it's a powerful feeling that can overwhelm all reason. We all feel fear, but we don't truly understand it in the context of fearing the Lord. In week 3 of our study on honest emotions, Bill Clark reminds us that fear of the Lord is the only thing to fear and what that really means in light of our relationship with Him.

We’re living into a new normal we don’t like and we find it scary.
Philippians 4:6 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Luke 12:4–5 NIV
I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
Fear, respect, and obey the Living God.
Fear is a present moment reaction that is appropriate in the face of danger.
Imagine you had a direct confrontation with the Living God.
There is only one thing to be afraid of—the loss of friendship with God.
God just IS and always has been.
